Qualification required to become an Architect
Architecture courses are a combination of engineering topics, arts, and technology. There are many courses in the field of Architecture at different levels. On the completion of the course, candidates can also register for the Council of Architecture (COA).
Diploma Courses:
Candidates must have completed class 12 with Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects with 50% of aggregate marks in board exams.
For other diploma courses, 10+2 is the minimum requirement.
B.Arch:
B.Arch is the most popular program in the field of Architecture.
Students should have completed class 12 with Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects with 50% aggregate marks in board exams to pursue the B.Arch course.
Students who have completed a 3-year diploma after class 10 can also apply for the B.Arch program.
Most of the colleges also require students to clear Architecture entrance exams such as JEE Main and NATA. For IITs, one should qualify JEE Advanced.
